COALDALE, ALBERTA – On Tuesday, April 30, members of Coaldale Town Council met with senior executives from Shift Real Estate Investments to finalize a naming rights and sponsorship agreement for the Town’s brand-new multi-use recreation centre.
Moving forward, the soon to be operational facility will be known as the Shift Community Recreation Centre.
“We’re thrilled to have secured the naming rights to Coaldale’s new multi-use recreation centre,” said Mike Davis, President of Shift Real Estate. “By finalizing this sponsorship agreement, our company is not only investing in Coaldale’s future, but also, investing in the health and wellness of Coaldale and area residents for many years to come. Sponsoring the rec centre aligns perfectly with our core values of community, teamwork, integrity and family.”
Last week, Shift also announced the creation of Malloy Landing, a new residential development nestled in the northwest corner of Coaldale that will feature a variety of residential and multi-family lots.
“On behalf of Coaldale Town Council, I’d like to thank Shift for sponsoring the Town’s new multi-use rec centre”, said Town of Coaldale Mayor, Jack Van Rijn. “This brand new, state-of-the-art facility will stand at the heart of Malloy Landing and help attract many of the residents who end up settling in the new subdivision. As a Council, we’re incredibly excited to see Shift take on this project and look forward to seeing the Shift Community Recreation Centre officially open.”
The grand opening of the Shift Community Recreation Centre will take place on Wednesday, July 3, in conjunction with the opening ceremonies for the 2024 Southern Alberta Summer Games. With over 55,000 square feet of programmable space, the facility will serve as a hub for the local community and attract participation from all ages. Activities in the facility will include pickleball, indoor soccer, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and squash. The facility will also house a fitness centre with weightlifting and cardio equipment, as well a daycare center run by BGC Lethbridge.
As for the development of Malloy Landing, Shift will take a phased approach with 42 lots coming online as soon as summer, 2024. For more information about Malloy Landing, please visit: https://malloylanding.ca/.
